Backed by The Knot, the new marriage health startup Lasting provides today’s couples with a mobile, personalized and affordable way to maintain a healthy marriage

New York, NY/November 29, 2017Lasting, a new marriage health startup backed by The Knot/XO Group Inc., today announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind marriage health app available on iOS and Android. Based on more than 125 research studies and decades of research work, Lasting gets to know a couple’s relationship and creates a program just for them. The personalized app includes hundreds of five-minute sessions to proactively keep a relationship strong; covers a wide variety of marital areas, such as communication, conflict and sex; and informs users how to embed healthy habits into daily married life. Lasting joins the XO Group family of leading tech brands that guide couples through transformative lifestages, from getting married to having a baby.

Marriage is profoundly important to couples, families and society, yet it’s difficult to build and maintain a healthy marriage when the existing relationship health options are generic, time-consuming and expensive. While caring for the health element of your marriage, keeping the legal side in check is also crucial to a successful partnership, so checking out legal help such as a popular family lawyer in Mississauga could be beneficial.

“In an age where apps help people with everything from dieting and physical fitness to mental health, there was a surprising lack of apps to help people build their relationship and marriage health,” said Steven Dziedzic, founder of Lasting. “Lasting is an accessible, personalized and affordable way to build a healthy marriage and keep a relationship strong over time. If we succeed, in 10 years, proactively working on your marriage will be a cultural expectation.”

“We’re thrilled with our investment in Lasting and Steve Dziedzic,” said Mike Steib, CEO of XO Group. “Steve is a highly regarded entrepreneur and the former Director of Product for The Knot. We made him our Entrepreneur in Residence to investigate the opportunity to better support married couples, while also deepening our relationship with and providing more value to those we guide on The Knot and The Bump. There’s not only a large business opportunity to serve the millions of married couples in the US, but also a large social impact opportunity to help them maintain happy, healthy and lifelong marriages. Lasting is the answer.”

Features of the Lasting: Marriage Health App include:

  • Personalized sessions and exercises: The app gets to know a couple’s relationship and creates a program based on the relationship’s unique needs. Couples receive hundreds of engaging sessions, exercises and quizzes that help them build their marriage health across a wide variety of marriage topics, like Conflict, Communication, Emotional Connection, Sex, Appreciation and Parenthood. They may even receive suggestions to incorporate helpful additions in the bedroom, like sex toys, a viagra pill, or a male enhancement cream (see https://penetric.com/penis-enlargement-oil-cream-gel/ for more info), to bring back the sexual passion and try something new. All couples receive a five-session introduction for free, which teaches the basics of how to build marriage health. The $11.99 monthly subscription unlocks the entire Lasting program for two users (the primary user and their partner).
  • Partner sharing and comparing: The app allows partners to share and compare session answers by seamlessly syncing the answers, displaying them side by side, and grouping them into strength areas, growth areas and discussion areas. Lasting quickly and easily determines which areas are most important to discuss and work through together.
  • Healthy marriage reminders: Lasting offers a daily reminder system to prompt couples to maintain healthy marriage habits for a lifetime, including expressing appreciation, reducing the chances of a dead bedroom, prioritizing emotional connection and asking about each other’s day.

While in beta, Lasting subscribers completed an average of 12 sessions a month and spent 90 minutes a month in the app. Ninety-nine percent of subscribers reported feeling “more prepared to communicate” with their partners and “more prepared for future conflicts.” April, married five years, says, “I feel so much more empowered in all aspects of my relationship. I really loved the Emotional Connection series and the Conflict series. Really powerful sessions.” Jeremy, married one year, says, “The content is seriously amazing. My mind was blown by the marriage research. I loved the actionable counsel, based in data and research.”

Starting today, the first 500 users to download Lasting will be automatically entered to win a dream vacation to Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort in St. Lucia. Read more information and download the Lasting: Marriage Health App for Couples here.
